A Little About PGA West

PGA West is a major golf resort in the city of La Quinta, Riverside County. Like many communities around it, PGA West was built in response to a demand for high quality golfing facilities and a relaxing resort atmosphere. The PGA West resort is found in Southern California’s sunny Coachella Valley, which enjoys year round sunshine as well as consistently high temperatures. The low rates of rainfall and striking desert scenery of the Coachella Valley make it perfect for golfing enthusiasts. The PGA West recently celebrated its thirty-fifth anniversary and has grown considerably in its prominence and offerings since it was founded in 1985. The PGA West resort includes a total of six championship golf courses, crafted by some of the best known golfers of all time. The minds behind the resorts courses include Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Weiskopf. The design and popularity of PGA West has given it the nickname of “The Western Home of Golf in America.”

The PGA West resort hosts two major annual tournaments, the PGA Tour Qualifying School Finals and the Bob Hope Classic, which regularly draw crowds interested in watching some of the world’s best golf. The offerings of the resort extend far beyond golf, however, and include all of the amenities expected of a world class vacation destination. PGA West is home to three full sized clubhouses, an exercise facility, and several dining rooms in addition to a tennis club. The three major clubhouses are the Tournament Clubhouse, the Greg Norman Clubhouse, and the Private Clubhouse, which offer an impressive range of dining options and private events for large groups. PGA West’s location near Palm Springs means that even more dining options, shopping centers, and tourist attractions are just a short drive away.
