Palm Springs Life Magazine’s Amelia Rodriguez has compiled a list of 55 things to do here in the Coachella Valley in April. As you can see from the list, Coachella and Stagecoach aren’t the only events happening here in April. Here’s the list:
OUTBURST ARTIST RESIDENCIES: FULTON LEROY WASHINGTON (MR. WALSH) & DEVIN REYNOLDS | Through July 3rd | Palm Springs Art Museum
Wrongly convicted and incarcerated in 1996 for nonviolent drug offenses, painter Fulton Leroy Washington, better known as Mr. Wash, honed his skills as a portraitist by painting fellow inmates. He became a working artist after then-president Barack Obama commuted his sentence in 2016. Fellow Outburst resident Devin Reynolds combines the sights and symbols of his youth in Venice, California, with imagery from post-WWII advertising. His pieces for the residency grapple with the desert in a way that will likely resonate with Coachella Valley residents. For more information: psmuseum.org
