According to The Desert Sun’s Sam Morgen, there will soon be a new option for those travelling between Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. Jet service company Aero has launched semi-private flights between Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles and Jacqueline Chochran Regional Airport in Thermal. The new flights are targeting weekend travelers who can afford to cut traffic out of their plans. Flights are scheduled to take place on Friday and Sunday evenings from Nov. 1 to late April, with an advertised flight time of 55 minutes. Benefits include use of private terminals, curbside check-in just 20 minutes before flight time and an open bar with in-flight dining options featuring Erewhon. Tickets start at $725 per person each way. From Los Angeles, Aero travelers can also reach Napa, Los Cabos in Mexico, Aspen, Colorado and Sun Valley, Idaho. For comparison, United also offers seasonal flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Palm Springs International Airport, with a round-trip economy ticket available as of Tuesday of this week for less than $300 for some dates in November.
