Just in time for Valentine’s day, in a recent Patch.com article, Renee Schiavone writes that OpenTable just released their 2017 list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants In America.  California restaurants landed 7 of the 100 spots.  Of the 7 restaurants in California named to the Top 100 List, 5 were in Southern California and, of these 5, 3 were in the Coachella Valley. The Coachella Valley Restaurants named to the list: Jillian’s in Palm Desert, Le Vallauris in Palm Springs and Wally’s Desert Turtle in Rancho Mirage. 

The list was created using the opinions of more than 10 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 24,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. According to OpenTable, the list is dotted with restaurants located on picturesque properties and eateries showcasing cozy dining rooms with incredible ambiance. 

Here are the California restaurants included in the Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants List: 

  • Bertrand at Mister A’s – San Diego — French
  • Boulevard Bistro – Elk Grove — Californian
  • The Hobbit – Orange — Contemporary French
  • Jillian’s – Palm Desert — International
  • Le Vallauris – Palm Springs — French
  • The Restaurant at Convict Lake – Mammoth Lakes — Continental
  • Wally’s Desert Turtle – Rancho Mirage — Contemporary American
