Definitely been a Midcentury theme to our posts this week in keeping with Palm Springs Modernism Week Fall Preview.  This Palm Springs Life article, by Lisa Marie Hart, takes a look at a new trend; modern couples eloping to Palm Springs and hitting the local midcentury architecture circuit to take their first photos as newlyweds

While some mod couples may drive in to elope from Los Angeles or San Diego, this article looks at Michele and Steve, who jetted in all the way from New Zealand. The couple rented a midcentury modern home for the week, which made a quaint yet stylish place for their private backyard ceremony.

Photographer Christine Arnold captured the elopement.  Following a champagne toast, the lovebirds set off for their retro newlywed photo shoot. In the article, Arnold explains the trend.  Also, her tip for couples on taking their best elopement pictures; “Relax and enjoy. There is no pressure when you elope—no timelines or family obligations. It's just you and your photographer. Take it all in, request backdrops that reflect your personality, and have fun!”
