The Los Angeles Times’ Lauren Beale writes that the Palm Springs Midcentury Modern home, known as the Elvis Presley Honeymoon Hideaway, has come on the market, listed at $5.9 million. This unique home, located in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood, was designed by famed architect William Krisel and built by the era’s renowned custom home builder, Robert Alexander, in 1960. While Elvis never owned the property, he did lease it starting in 1966, one year before marrying Priscilla Wagner in 1967. If it looks familiar, you might have seen it in the TV movies "Elvis & Me" and "Elvis by the Presleys", which were filmed there.
The 5,000 square foot, 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom house is made up of four circle-shaped living and features curved walls of stone, a round kitchen island, a circular fireplace in the center of the living room and stunning mountain and Coachella Valley views. Outside, the roughly 1.25 acres of grounds (consisting of three buildable lots of roughly 18,000 square feet each) include an oversized swimming pool, tennis court and fruit orchard.
