The Desert Sun’s Anna Rumer writes that as a result of her attending both weekends of Coachella earlier this year, she is not a music festival newbie. However, she was still caught off guard by a few things during the first weekend of Desert Trip. So, she has written about the 9 things that The Desert Sun’s reporters wish that everyone going to Desert Trip Weekend 2 knows:

  • Parking is different than other Goldenvoice concerts
  • Binoculars can make even the cheapest seats seem like VIP;Wear layers and bring a light jacket;
  • Buy your t-shirts early;
  • Bring a bandanna for the dust and dried grass;
  • Stay until the end of Roger Waters’ set (surprise alert);
  • Make sure your phone is charged and have a backup plan;
  • Check out the Desert Trip Photography Experience; and
  • Beware the fake disabled placards (each citation comes with fines up to $1,000).
Last but not least, here is a list of the roads that will be closed for the concert throughout the weekend:
  • Avenue 49 between Hjorth Street and Monroe Street;
  • Avenue 50 between Madison Street and Jackson Street;
  • Hjorth Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50;
  • Madison Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 52; and
  • Carreon Boulevard between Oasis and Arabia Street
