The DailyMail.com recently took a look at Suzanne Somer’s South of France inspired Palm Springs home, currently listed for sale at $14.5 million. The home, built in 1920, is accessed by a funicular and features 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in 5 buildings spread over 73 acres, a two-room kitchen, a wine cellar, an outdoor bathtub, pool and an amphitheater. It was originally listed in late 2007 for $35 million. The price was dropped to $12.9 million in 2008.
The Three's Company star recently told People Magazine that now that her son and TV host husband Alan Hamel's two children are all grown up, she is begrudgingly ready to say goodbye to the property and build a much smaller 2 or 3 bedroom modern home. However, the home would have to have an amphitheater, since she claims that once you’ve had an outdoor amphitheater, you can’t live without one. No wonder since Barry Manilow has performed there and on one evening a few months following 9/11, Merv Griffin, Robert Goulet, Michael Feinstein, and Jack Jones stood on the stage and sang a cappella God Bless America.
