Free Kids Summer Movie Series | Fridays Through Aug. 1 from 9:30am-12pm | Mary Pickford Theatre, Cathedral City
The Cathedral City Parks and Community Events Commission (PACE), in partnership with the Mary Pickford Theatre, presents the return of the “Free Summer Kids Movie Series”. The film series offers free admission to see a different movie geared towards kids each Friday morning at the Mary Pickford Theatre in Downtown Cathedral City. The schedule is as follows: (1) July 4th – The Bad Guys, (2) July 11th – The Wild Robot, (3) July 18th – Kung Fu Panda 4, and (4) July 25th – Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Palm Desert Independence Day Celebration | July 4 from 7:30-9:30pm | Civic Center Park
The evening’s events officially kick off at 7:30pm at the park’s amphitheater with a free concert of pop favorites. At 9pm the sky will light up with a spectacular 20-minute-long fireworks display synchronized to patriotic themed songs simulcast on two local radio stations. A variety of food trucks and vendors will be on hand with tasty treats and cool beverages. Attendees may also bring picnic dinners, but alcoholic beverages, smoking, and portable barbeques are prohibited. Select pool areas will be open, and slides will be open from 7:30 – 8 p.m. only. Onsite food trucks will sell snacks and treats.
