According to Community Association Research, a staggering 69 million Americans live in 342,000 common-interest communities. The majority (90%) of these owners think that their Home Owners Association (HOA) protects their investment and enhances property values.  In addition, 73% of owners feel that their community managers provide support to residents and their associations.

According to the survey, the best aspects of living in a community association are:

  • Clean or attractive neighborhood
  • Safe neighborhood
  • Maintenance free neighborhood
  • Having the association help maintain property values

Again, according to the survey, the worst aspects of living in a community association are:

  • Restrictions on exterior home improvements
  • Paying dues
