In a recent article, the Desert Sun’s Vibe and Style Columnist, Xochitl Pena, provides us with her list of 10 New Year’s Eve offerings:
- The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens - Mildly Wild New Year’s Eve Party – This party includes a surf and turf dinner, animal encounters, live entertainment and dancing with a free champagne toast at 9 p.m. (midnight on the east coast). $125
- Arrive Hotel - The Well Presents: New Year’s Eve Weekend at Arrive - DJ’s, drink specials and food with a free champagne toast to ring in the New Year from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. On New Year’s Day continue the celebration from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. $25-$40.
- Spa Resort Casino - Palm Springs New Year’s Eve Countdown and Block Party – This party offers live entertainment, food from local restaurants, bar gardens, a multi-media presentation and fireworks. The event runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. with the Village People performance at 10:30 p.m. The outdoor block party is across from the casino and free. There is limited seating for the concert at a cost of $35 for general admission. VIP packages for $75 have already sold out.
- RetroRoom Lounge – Pinkie Meringue Shimmer hosts a show with party favors, dancing, costumes, headdresses, a champagne toast at midnight and performances by Princess Jacqueline, Diva, Anita Rose, Melissa Stratman and more. 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. No cover.
- Renaissance Indian Wells Resort and Spa - Winewomen PSP New York New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance Celebration - The evening starts with a cocktail reception, then continues with a three course dinner paired with wine, followed by the New York New Year’s Time Square Live Ball Drop with a champagne toast and dancing. 6 to 11 p.m. Cost is $165 per person or $1,600 for a table of 10.
- Fantasy Springs Resort Casino - At LIT Ultra Lounge, The Dax Band kicks off the night at 9 p.m. followed by Kalimba at 11 p.m. Slim Man will perform songs from the American songbook inside the 12th Floor Cocktail Lounge and Wine Bar. Parties in both of those locations run from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and are free. The bowling alley, restaurants and gaming floor will also feature special New Year’s Eve festivities.
- Hard Rock Hotel - BB’s Annual NYE Masquerade Party - Three floors and six stages of entertainment with multiple DJs and bands playing all genres of music including a special performance by MTV/ABC recording artist Shawn Don. 8:30 to 2 a.m. Masks are optional. $25-$40.
- Michael Holmes' Purple Room - Diva Sharon Sills Sings in the Year - The 10 p.m. dinner seating includes a Prix Fixe dinner with wine, unlimited champagne and party favors. $125.
- Saguaro Palm Springs - Drag Me to 2017 – This party features comedy, show tunes, dancing, a complimentary buffet with appetizers, drink specials, special guest DJ and a free toast at midnight. It will be hosted by Miss Rusty Waters with special guests Adrienne Alexander and Jayla D. Foxx. 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. $35.
- Ace Hotel and Swim Club - King’s Highway has a four course dinner for $75 which includes entry to the hotel’s party. Just dinner is $50. The Commune hosts live sets by YACHT and X.X.T with DJ Owen Pallett from 8 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. $35-$40. The Pie Town’s Supertemporal Southwestern Sock Hop from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with DJ’s. Free.
