The hills (around Palm Desert at least) come alive with the sound of music as Palm Desert’s Concerts in the Park series returns to the Palm Desert Civic Center Park Amphitheater. The series kicks off on Thursday, October 2nd with all female band, Pulp Vixen, performing the biggest hits from the 1980s to today. October 9th BEACH St. A GoGo takes the stage with a throwback show featuring hits from the 1960s. Fortunate Son brings the unmistakable sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty to Civic Center Park on October 16th. On October 23rd The Silverados roll into town with a crowd-pleasing mix of classic and contemporary country hits. The series wraps up on October 30th, with a fab finale as Britain’s Finest recreates the magic of the Beatles. HWY 62 Open Studio Art Tours | Oct. 4-5, 11-12, & 18-19 | Joshua Tree & Surrounding Hi-Desert Areas
Over three weekends during October, explore 133 studios in a self-guided tour of the high desert’s vibrant creative scene. Nearly 200 artists, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramicists, and jewelers, will open up their spaces to the public for free. Visitors can also explore a sampler platter of many participating artists in an exhibition at Yucca Valley’s Hi-Desert Art Center and, once night falls and the studios shut their doors, catch local musicians at various venues throughout town.
