La Piedra, the dramatic Palm Springs home designed by architect Edward Giddings for late actor and “The Fugitive” star, David Janssen, is on the market for $7.288 million.  Unfortunately, Mr. Janssen never got to live in the home as construction was not completed until 3 years after his death in 1980, at age 48.

The stone-clad house has a sprawling 7,500 square feet of living space on 2.25 acres.  The estate has such amenities as an outdoor kitchen, a travertine shuffleboard court flanked by putting greens, a fire pit with built-in stone benches and a resort-style swimming pool with a waterfall and a spa.  The living space includes a formal entry, a dome-topped great room with a bar and a dining room, a breakfast room, a gym, five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and a powder room. Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass take in expansive views of the desert, mountains and cityscape.
