Guided Nature Walks | Saturdays 7 Sundays Through Sept. 5 at 11am & 1:30pm | Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Guided Nature Walks by Mt. San Jacinto State Park Volunteers are Saturdays and Sundays through September 5. These walks feature a choice of two easy trails–the Desert View Trail, a 11⁄2-mile route beginning at 11am and the Long Valley Nature Trail, a 3⁄4-mile loop beginning at 1:30pm. Summer Fun at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens | Summer Hours Of Operation Through Sept. 30 | 47900 Portola Avenue, Palm Desert

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will begin its summer schedule and open an hour earlier for guests to enjoy all the wildlife, gardens and special attractions. Daily hours will be 7am-1:30pm. Hours for the new Australian Adventures, Kraal, and Tennity Wildlife Hospital lobby also will be 7am-1:30pm daily. The popular giraffe feedings will be available 8am to noon and the new Desert Plant Conservation Center, an exhibit of desert plants ranging from seed to mature floras, remains open during summer hours. Animal chats including pronghorn, cheetah, hornbill, coati, camels, African wild dog, eagles, desert tortoise will return and guests are encouraged to check the daily schedule for exact times.
