
The Living Desert has some upcoming events that might be fun for you, your friends and your family:

Ever wonder what the animals are up to at The Living Desert when the people go home and the lights go out? On selected Friday evenings, between 6:00pm and 8:30 pm, you can find out. Each special evening for families (Jan. 6th, Feb. 3rd and Mar. 3rd) includes an up-close animal presentation, guided walk through the zoo and s’mores roasting ‘round a roaring campfire. Each adult only night (21 and over on Jan. 20th, Feb. 17th and Mar. 17th) will feature either a beer, wine, bourbon or vodka tasting opportunity in addition to a guided tour of specially selected animal exhibits. Reservations required

Concerts for Conservation will feature a variety of musical performers and is free for members or with paid admission and will be held outside in the Palm Garden. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The weekly concerts kick off on Sunday, January 22 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and will run every Sunday through February 26.
- 1/22: Kings of 88 - A high-energy show with a great mix of music, honoring some of the most popular artists of piano rock, like Billy Joel and Elton John to Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis.
- 1/29: Bleeding Harp - A rockin’ blues band fusing old school blues with modern influences of rock, jam and southern rock.
- 2/5: Lao Tizer Jazz Trio - Noted keyboardist and composer, Lao Tizer, will entertain with an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, classical, Afro Cuban and world rhythms.
- 2/12: Andy Cahan of The Turtles - Touted as one of the most famous musicians you’ve never heard of, Cahan has been in the music business for over 40 years. including stints as the musical director and keyboard player for The Turtles and playing with, producing and recording with the likes of Jim Hendrix and Little Richard.
- 2/19: Shadow Mountain Band - Unique mountain-style harmonies as the bans performs bluegrass, country and gospel music.
- 2/26: International Kids Day with Mariachi Juvenil de CVHC & AMP Performers - The final concert will celebrate International Kids Day by featuring the young musicians of AMP (the Academy of Musical Performance) and Mariachi Juvenil de CVHC. AMP is a local, music education program whose goal is to enrich the lives of young musicians living in the Coachella Valley by fostering productivity and social responsibility through creativity, communication and collaboration in the development and enhancement of musical performance and concert production skills. Mariachi Juvenil is a program of the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition that brings youth together to perform traditional Mariachi instruments at area cultural events.

Wine Maker’s Dinner is a member’s only event on Jan. 14th at one of The Living Desert’s most unique settings, The District Commissioner’s House. Attendees will enjoy sampling wine from Ramble Tooth and Nail Winery out of Paso Robles, CA. In addition to wine, guests will enjoy live entertainment, food pairings, an animal encounter with our Amur Leopard, and a complimentary souvenir wine glass. Unfortunately, this event is already sold out.

Brew Master’s Dinner is a member’s only event on Feb. 4th at The District Commissioner’s House. Attendees will enjoy beer, live entertainment, food pairings, an animal encounter with our Amur Leopard and a free logo’d drink glass for each guest. Two Seatings Available: 5:00 – 7:00pm and 7:30 – 9:30pm, The Living Desert’s District Commissioner’s House, $75 per person*.

- Jan 28th: Breakfast with the Leoparde - Get up close and personal with our Amur Leopard and enjoy the morning's special enrichment, keeper chats and more!
- Mar. 18th: Breakfast with the Dinos - Get rawrr’d up for an encounter that will bring dinosaurs to life in front of your very eyes. The Guardians of The Living Desert are planning a special morning of fun and activities.
Breakfast includes: Scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, and water. Living Desert Members Only. Reservations Required. Limited Seating.
