The Desert Sun’s Tom Coulter writes that Allegiant will begin offering seasonal nonstop flights between Palm Springs and three new locations, Indianapolis, Des Moines and Provo. The new flights to Des Moines and Indianapolis will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, starting Nov. 18. The new flights to Provo will operate on Fridays and Mondays, starting Nov. 19. Flights to Des Moines are expected to operate into March 2022, while flights to Indianapolis and Provo will be offered into April 2022.
With these new flights, Allegiant offers nonstop service from Palm Springs to seven cities. In late June, Allegiant announced twice-weekly nonstop flights between Palm Springs and Nashville, beginning Nov. 17. Allegiant also offers seasonal flights from Palm Springs to Bellingham, Boise and Eugene.
Recently, the number of travelers passing through the Palm Springs International Airport has surpassed pre-pandemic levels. The airport reported its busiest June ever with 129,872 passengers passing through the airport, an increase of 23% from the previous record of 105,350 passengers set in June 2019.
